Winterbottom, who has made a strong recovery from a broken ankle suffered over the Christmas break, is the inform driver coming off the back of a win during the final round of the 2011 championship, Sydney Telstra 500.

"Adelaide is one of my favoured circuits and I just can’t wait get back into racing conditions at the Clipsal 500," commented Frosty.

"The temperatures are soaring in Adelaide at the moment and I hope it stays that way, the hotter the better!

"Despite my ankle injury i've been keeping really fit over the break and the fit drivers are always rewarded at Clipsal given the hot temperatures and length of both races."

Teammate Davison will also start his 2012 campaign full of confidence after setting the quickest time during V8 Supercars official test day at Sandown Raceway earlier this month where, in the process, he set a new lap record.

Both Davison and Winterbottom have enjoyed success in Adelaide in the form of podium finishes but neither have yet to climb to the top step of the podium and will be looking to rectify this stat on the streets of Adelaide in just a few days time.

The Clispal 500 is the benchmark of all V8 Supercar events drawing over 270,000 spectators in 2010, more than any other championship round.

The track is a flowing but technical street circuit which rewards precision and talent with its vicious curbing and tightly constructed concrete walls making it one of the most intense battles of the year for all 28 drivers.
