EXTRA INCENTIVE FOR ORRCON DRIVERS TO LEAD THE WAY IN ADELAIDE

Don't forget to register your team in the Orrcon V8 Supercar Tipping Competition for the 2009 V8 Supercar Championship.

Mark Winterbottom and Steve Richards will have an extra incentive to lead the way during the Clipsal 500, round one of the 2009 V8 Supercar Championship Series, in Adelaide this weekend courtesy of an initiative by team sponsor Orrcon Steel.

As a part of a fundraising effort for Camp Quality, Orrcon Steel will be donating funds towards the organisation for every lap led by a Ford car in this weekend's pair of 78-lap races.

These funds, along with those raised by an Orrcon Racing helmet being auctioned on www.orrconracing.com.au, will go towards assisting members of Camp Quality to travel to the snow in later in the year.

Onkaparinga resident Simon Robinson, Orrcon Steel Manager -- Sales Academy, is also in training to walk the Kokoda track in May as a part of the fundraising efforts.

"Camp Quality is a way of providing kids with the opportunity to do things that most of us simply take for granted," said Robinson.

"I have been touched by cancer recently with my wife being diagnosed with breast cancer, which she appears to be overcoming at this stage, and by joining with Orrcon Steel and the guys at Ford Performance Racing it is our way of doing something for the kids of Camp Quality.

"As a 45-year-old I've had the opportunity to do a lot in my life but for some of these kids they don't know what life is like without undergoing treatment, hopefully by raising these funds we can help provide them with something special."

Winterbottom, driver of the #5 Orrcon Steel FPR Falcon in the V8 Supercar Championship, believes the fundraiser is a great initiative and will provide him with extra motivation for this weekend's season opener.

"To see the smile on the faces of the kids when we walked into the Camp Quality office earlier in the week gave me a special feeling," said Winterbottom.

"While we wanted to go out there and win already, to know that we are doing it for a good cause will make it an even better reason to lead the way.

"Hopefully a Ford car is leading for every lap of both races over the weekend to ensure that we raise as many dollars as possible."

Winterbottom and Richards will be providing a VIP Tour of the Ford Performance Racing pit area for a group of Camp Quality children this afternoon at 4:00pm.
