ORAN PARK OFFERS TOUGH CHALLENGE FOR BARGWANNA AND WILSON

Oran Park is the venue for the latest challenge for WPS/WOW Racing as drivers Jason Bargwanna and Max Wilson lead the team into the Jim Beam 400 at Oran Park Raceway in Sydney's west this weekend.

The Oran Park round, which represents Round 8 of the 2007 V8 Supercar Championship Series, is one of the traditional events on the calendar and the unique Sydney circuit always proves one of the most challenging on the schedule.

The undulating layout is a true test of driver skill and car set-up, making team-work a big part of success as drivers, engineers and crews work hard throughout the weekend to achieve set-up improvements on the cars with every session.

Last season the Oran Park round proved that when it comes to challenging circuits where team-work is key, WPS/WOW Racing rises to the challenge.

Bargwanna was an outstanding seventh overall for the round and his team-mate Wilson was on-track to back up Bargwanna's efforts and join the former Bathurst winner in the overall top 10 until an unfortunate accident in Race 3 ended the Brazilian's charge.

This year WPS/WOW Racing enters the tough challenge of Oran Park as the team continues to improve and grow stronger, making this weekend one that the Gold Coast-based team is looking forward to immensely as a test of recent development and growth.

WHAT THEY HAD TO SAY --

Max Wilson -- #8 WOW Racing Falcon

"We are still working hard at improving our cars so this weekend will be a really good test for our team," said Wilson.

"Oran Park is a difficult track for everyone and it's hard to predict who will go well there as car set-up is the key to doing well.

"Last year I was running in the top 10 before I had a fairly large accident, so I hope that we can continue with that car speed and get the results we deserve.

"I like the place as it is very different and quite a difficult race track compared to most of the circuits we visit. It's technical but it's very rewarding when you get it right, just because it's so tough."

Jason Bargwanna -- #10 WPS Racing Falcon

"I've been going to Oran Park since I was a young boy and no matter what kind of car you race it's a tough place," said Bargwanna.

"It's a circuit that I really enjoy because you've really got to attack the circuit in an effort to get the best out of the car and set a good lap time.

"The circuit has everything and it is one of those places that takes every bit of concentration you have as a driver.

"While you are out there giving 110 percent it's a tough place but if you and your team can get the car working, and ultimately score a good result, it is one of the most rewarding circuits in Australia.

"You know you've done well if you are up the front at Oran Park because set-up is important and the track has almost everything."

Craig Gore -- Team Owner

"The entire team is pretty excited about Oran Park and everyone has been putting in a lot of effort between Queensland Raceway and now," said Gore.

"Oran Park is a great track. It usually makes for fairly good racing and it serves as a big challenge for drivers and engineers alike.

"This team is still on the rise and establishing itself and we will be giving it everything this weekend to make sure we keep the points accumulating.

"With points so hard to come by it is crucial we score points in every race given the opportunity. Oran Park will be a tough challenge but we have a great team of people around our two drivers and as we get stronger the results will come."
