Mostert leads Sunday warm-up

Chaz Mostert set the pace in this morning’s 15-minute V8 Supercars warm-up session at Barbagallo Raceway.

The Prodrive Racing Australia driver, who took a career first pole position in qualifying for Race 7 yesterday, backed up his good form by topping the final practice of the weekend with a best of 57.686s.

Fabian Coulthard and Shane van Gisbergen were next in line, both finishing the session within a tenth of a second of Mostert, while yesterday’s double winner Mark Winterbottom was fourth fastest, 0.138s behind his pace-setting team-mate.

Will Davison continued to lead the way for Erebus, going fifth fastest, ahead of Dale Wood and David Reynolds.

Ash Walsh made it two Erebus Mercedes in the Top 10 with the eighth fastest lap, while Scott McLaughlin was the best Volvo in ninth, and Craig Lowndes, still stranded on 99 career wins, was 10th.

Jamie Whincup, meanwhile, was just 21st fastest in the #1 Red Bull entry.
