COULTHARD SETS PACE IN P4
Wet weather led to a confused practice session today at Barbagallo Raceway but Lockwood Racing's Fabian Coulthard emerged near the front by the chequered flag.
Conditions changed from one session to the next and, unlike in dry practice sessions, many teams chose to use their green tyres during the day's third practice session, which was the driest of the day.
Coulthard ran his best tyres in the final session on a very wet track, leading the times for much of the 20-minutes.
As the track dried he dropped down the order to seventh, which put him 18th overall for the day when compared with P3's faster times.
Qualifying for tomorrow's 50-lap race starts at 12.05pm.

"I think we did our time when it was really wet; after that the track dried up towards the end there and our tyre quality had been used up.
"I felt like we made good gains from Session Three to Session Four. My personal view is we made a couple of wrong calls in P3 and didn't really learn too much so to come out and rectify it and be top seven is not a bad comeback.
"If it stays wet like this all weekend then I think we're there or thereabouts. If it's dry then everyone's back to a level playing field and, if the team's track history at Barbagallo is anything to go by, I'm looking forward to giving it a go on slicks as well."
