What will the Lockwood driver be able to accomplish at Winton?

After a strong start to the V8 Supercar season, Lockwood Racing's Fabian Coulthard is keen to continue the run of form this weekend for round three at Winton.

Finishing ninth, third and fifth in the three Tasmania 400 races last weekend, Coulthard consolidated a top three spot in the championship while showing pace and skill throughout.

"Tassie was really good for us," he said.

"Now we've just got to try and keep it going."

In every race this year, Coulthard and the Lockwood Racing VF Commodore have gained places.

"Our pace in the races has been really strong," he said.

"We've still got to tune it up in qualifying because when we get that right things will be easier - the best time to pass cars is in qualifying."

Coulthard's goal this year was to drive fast and smart.

"If you want to do well in the championship, you have to drive smart," Coulthard said.

"We've managed to do that so far and collect some good points on the way."

Red Bull Racing Australia has made a strong start to the year but Coulthard isn't fazed by the challenge of taking on Jamie Whincup and Craig Lowndes.

"Everyone is beatable," he said.

"We've just got to work harder; we've got some development parts in the works and we're all working flat out to do the best we can."

Round three at Winton is a SuperSprint round, with two 100 kilometre races on Saturday and one 200 kilometre race on Sunday.
