Light to flag victory in Tasmania for Bright

"Car of the Future was always going to be good for us," said Jason Bright.

Pole and a race win at Symmons Plains today were a credit to the Albury crew who worked on the Team BOC Commodore according to Jason Bright.

Bright, who led from start to finish in today's first 42-lap race, thanked his team for turning out such a good car after putting in another stellar drive in the second race to come from eighth to fourth.

That saw him passing Jonathon Webb, Scott McLaughlin, Will Davison and Jamie Whincup in what was possibly the standout drive of a weekend that saw relatively little passing.

V8 Supercars will be back in action next weekend at Pukekohe, New Zealand.

Jason Bright, Team BOC: "The guys did an awesome job in the off season. To see both cars so competitive is a credit to them. Fabian is driving really well and I couldn't be happier with the job everyone is doing.

"Car of the Future was always going to be good for us. I felt like we were falling behind a bit last year with the oldest rear end and probably not the best front end in the Holden. The aero kit wasn't a match for the Ford either. Now we've addressed all those things and I think we did a really good job with building the cars.

The things we selected to go into them were obviously the right things.

"If anything, Adelaide was probably our weakest event. Eastern Creek, AGP and here have all been very strong. I was worried about Turn One here but that was my best sector all weekend.

We worked on our weaknesses and made them our strengths and we haven't even done a test day yet, apart from Eastern Creek."
