IRWIN Racing's Lee Holdsworth will have an engine upgrade for this weekend's Chill Perth 360 at Barbagallo Raceway in Western Australia.
Holdsworth's Mercedes-Benz AMG E63 V8 Supercar from Erebus Motorsport, will feature a new induction system with a move from the two throttle butterflies to eight. Another change is the move away from an electronic 'fly-by-wire' to cable controlled throttle.
The change, spear-headed by HWA in Germany, is aimed at improving driveability and performance which is will be crucial at the WA track.
Holdsworth has completed every one of the nine races contested this year and the engine upgrade is hoped to put Holdsworth closer to the top-10 as the team continues to develop the all-new AMG E63 V8 Supercar package.
This weekend's racing will feature three races across the weekend, including the split 60/60 format on the Saturday, which includes the short half-time period and double-file rolling re-start.
