Back to the future for Team Betta Electrical.

Team Betta Electrical, again failed to gain the coveted podium finish they had hoped for in today's VIP Pet foods Queensland 500 endurance race at Queensland Raceway.

A series of incidents effecting both cars 65 & 66 can best be described as bad luck.

Max Wilson in car 66 dropped two places in the early stages of the race, however managed to maintain 8th position the planed pit stop for fuel, tyres and driver change.

Dean Canto took the controls and with only a little way into his stint, lost power steering.

Canto continued to do battle with the car under difficult conditions, only to have the front suspension fail, causing a wheel to split in two and putting him out of the race on lap 88.

Tony Longhurst campaigning car 65 in 12th position experienced the same front suspension failure, again splitting the wheel in two, forcing Longhurst to limp back to the pits on three wheels for repairs on lap 53.

Mathew White took his position behind the wheel rejoining the race in 31st position.

White continued at a steady pace to finish with 145 laps completed in 24th position.

The drivers were visibly disappointed with the performance, commenting the day fell far short of expectations of a podium finish.

We can only look forward to Bathurst now and trust the cars prove stronger on the demanding Mount Panorama circuit, said the drivers.
