TEAM RECOVERS AFTER FIRST LAP CLASH

After a lightning start, Karl Reindler found himself side-by-side with V8 rookie rival Daniel Gaunt in today's race at Hidden Valley.

The Fair Dinkum Sheds Racing driver, already committed, had nowhere to go when Gaunt turned into his side as the pair went through Turn Seven.

Subsequent steering damage forced Reindler to pit. The team managed to fix the problem but not in time to complete the required 75% race distance to register as a finisher.

Qualifying for Race 14 starts tomorrow at 12pm CST.

"We got a great start; it was very close with the people around me for the first four or five corners and I went into turn seven around the outside of Daniel Gaunt. He made a very desperate move; I was already committed and he ran straight into the side of me and broke my steering. The boys worked crazy hard to fix it and managed to do so. We just put some practice tyres on after that and ticked over to the end."

Brad Jones
Team Manager

"Unfortunately Karl got caught up in a bit of a skirmish on the first lap but the boys got the car in the garage, fixed the steering arm and got it back on the circuit. Karl got some badly needed laps and, even though they were on a old set of tyres, his pace was good compared to the guys he'd have been racing against."
