PERKINS GETS SOME POINTS ON THE BOARD IN DARWIN

Dodo Racing Team driver Jack Perkins has posted a solid score of championship points with a 24th place finish in the second race at the SKYCITY Triple Crown at Hidden Valley Raceway in Darwin, NT today.

Perkins enjoyed better luck today in the #11 Dodo Holden Commodore and after qualifying in 28th position earlier in the day, was able to hang on to post a steady finish in today's 69-lap race.

Michael Caruso won today's second race of the SKYCITY Triple Crown ahead of Alex Davison, Craig Lowndes and Rick Kelly.

The next event in the 2009 V8 Supercar Championship Series is the inaugural Dunlop Townsville 400 in far north Queensland on July 10-12.

WHAT JACK HAD TO SAY ...

Jack Perkins - #11 Dodo Holden Commodore:

"I guess it was good to get a finish," said Perkins.

"I'm probably a little bit disappointed. In the middle of the race we had the soft tyres on and we got right up behind (Mark) Winterbottom and Todd (Kelly) and I thought 'we are looking good here'.

"But the rear tyres disappeared and I started losing way too much time out there before our fuel window opened so we could pit and get new tyres to finish the race.

"Unfortunately we dropped back to the back of the field and I guess we worked our way back up to 24th.

"Not the result we wanted for the Dodo Commodore it's just good to finish nonetheless and we look forward to Townsville."
