Saturday's on track action features a pair of 10 minute long qualifying sessions ahead of twin 100km races.

The Jack Daniel's Racing Nissan Altimas of Rick and Todd Kelly have had a successful day of testing and tuning ahead of this weekend's Coates Hire Ipswich 400 at Queensland Raceway.

Although the final results sheet saw the pair finish 17th and 24th overall respectively for the day, both drivers reported positive progress with the setup changes to their cars.

Over the four car Nissan Motorsport squad, all cars tried contrasting setups, with data collected putting the team in a solid position ahead of the weekend.

Rick Kelly  - #15 Jack Daniel's Racing Nissan Altima: "It's been a lot of fun today", said Rick Kelly. We started with a car that wasn't too bad, and we made some good, logical, changes to it. The car reacted to it pretty well, and we ended the day in a pretty solid position on a good set of tyres. It's not completely ideal, but I felt myself as the driver I didn't get the most out of the car.

"Every time I rolled into the corners, I felt I could have gone in a lot hotter. So for us it's great, but I felt that I just didn't milk the most out of it, from the car point of view it is really well balanced, and handling quite nicely.

"We've had a couple of tough rounds chasing the setup of the car around, but today has really started quite well for us, we made some good improvements, and it puts us in good position knowing what it's going to do."

Todd Kelly  - #7 Jack Daniel's Racing Nissan Altima: "We got through quite a few changes in the sessions today, and we didn't really end up where we wanted to be", said Todd Kelly. So there is a little bit of work to do with the car, but the good thing is that all four cars in the Nissan Motorsport camp tried some different things over the day, and there are quite a few good things to come from the other cars.

"Now that we've got some time to go over it in depth, we can look the data and find the good points that we can then use on our car. I'm really looking forward to having a good run tomorrow."
