TEAC CHANNELS FPR WITH NEW SPONSORSHIP
Funding may be thin on the ground throughout the business world but Ford Performance Racing has proven it still makes financial sense by adding another sponsor to its ranks.
TEAC Australia, a key distributor of lifestyle consumer electronics products such as plasma and LCD TVs, DVDs and portable audio equipment, will join Ford, FPV, Castrol, Orrcon Steel, Lawrence & Hanson and WesTrac CAT as the latest blue-chip company to align with team blue.
The deal, which was finalised this week, sees TEAC receive prominent signage on the rear spoiler and front area of both FPR Ford Falcon V8 Supercars driven by Mark Winterbottom and Steve Richards.
Originally discussed as a product placement opportunity within FPR's new-look pit garage, TEAC soon realised the possibilities and came onboard as an official FPR sponsor for 2009 and 2010.
The partnership is TEAC's first entry into motorsport and FPR plans to work with the management and sales team to strengthen the partnership in the coming year. The key focus will be increasing the brand and quality awareness of TEAC as they continue to grow their product base in the Australian market.
FPR is on track this afternoon for the first race of the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide.
TEAC Senior Product and Marketing Manager
"We're looking to continue the rise of our profile in the Australian market and the V8 Supercar Championship Series just made perfect sense. The audience figures and profile match our target buyer and it allows us to present our product in a high-tech, high-performance environment, which properly reflects what we sell.
"Ford Performance Racing is clearly a professional outfit and we're very proud to be associated with them. I'm confident we'll be able to execute some really exciting marketing with this partnership over the next two years and beyond."
FPR Director -- Business Operations
"This opportunity came about from simply laying out the facts to the right people. The V8 Supercar model is an excellent opportunity for the right brands and we just need to keep plugging away at finding those strategic partnerships.
"Our strategy is to utilise FPR in the promotion of fast-moving consumer goods and I'm thrilled to have such a progressive brand as TEAC on our cars. The partnership and brand association is great and I'm very optimistic about the joint opportunities this presents for both companies and look forward to seeing how we will work with TEAC to increase sales through its impressive list of retail partners nationally."
