Tasman Motorsport Again In V8 Points At Creek

Tasman Motorsport's Greg Murphy and Jason Richards have again finished in the points during today's first race of the fifth round of the V8 Supercar Series at Eastern Creek.

Murphy and Richards finished 12th and 13th respectively in their SEW-Eurodrive Holden VE Commodores, the race won by fellow Holden driver Mark Skaife in the factory HRT Commodore.

Richards had qualified the #3 in tenth earlier in the day, while Murphy started Race 1 from 15th position.

Richards ran as high as seventh, but faded towards the end of the race struggling with car balance - braking and turn-in understeer.

Tasman Motorsport team manager Graham Jenkins said while pleased the team is continuing to earn championship points they are targeting higher finishes.

"Obviously it is nice to finish in the points, but 12th and 13th really aren't the results we're searching for," Jenkins said.

"We missed the setup windows with both cars and probably changed too many things on Jason's between qualifying and the race.

"Greg's race car was better than his qualifying car but we need to make further improvements tonight.

"We expect to be better tomorrow."

Tasman Motorsport was again the best finishing Holden team behind the factory HRT and Toll HSV Dealer Team.

The round concludes with Races 2 and 3 tomorrow, Queen's Birthday Monday.
