Wills Disappointed With Events Of Race 1

CAT RACING'S Simon Wills was disappointed with the outcome of Race One. Simon hit an oil patch on lap three thought to have been dropped by the Shell car of Paul Raddisich, which caused Simon to spin off the track. Simon managed to come back onto the track only to find Wayne Gardner who had been following hit the same oil patch and slammed into the side of the CAT Falcon, effectively putting Simon out fo the race. Damage was confined to right hand front guard and door. Simon stated, "There was just no warning at all, I must have been the first one to hit the patch of oil."

"I managed to control the car and keep it away from the walls only to be hit by Wayne Gardner who also hit the oil patch and smacked me as I came back onto the circuit. Its nobody's fault , its just one of those things."

"Now I have to focus on tomorrow's race and hope we can put in a good performance and stay awa from any incidents."

"The car was strong and I am disappointed we couldn't finish race one." The temperature out there is extremely hot and combined with the fumes it does tend to take its toll.
