Michael Caruso will run an LMP1-inspired livery on his Nissan V8 Supercar for this weekend’s Winton SuperSprint.
The new livery comes as part of Nissan’s continuing rolling sponsorship programme, this time reflecting the upcoming release of the Nissan Navara four-wheel-drive in Australia.
The red and black colour scheme is also a nod to the new-for-2015 Nissan GT-R Nismo LMP1 car, which will make its race debut at this year’s Le Mans 24-Hour race.
Along with the new livery, Nissan will also be the title sponsor of this weekend’s Winton round.
“Winton is a great fit with our all-new Nissan NP300 Navara,” said Nissan Australia’s managing director and CEO Richard Emery.
“This event is a favourite with dedicated motorsport fans, many of which will be driving to the event or camping at the circuit with their own Navara.
“The NP300 Navara Winton SuperSprint comes at an opportune time for us as the NP300 Navara goes on sale in Nissan dealerships around Australia in the days following this weekend’s event.”
Nissan has a strong history at the rural Victorian circuit, having enjoyed a run of wins between 1989 and 1992 with the Skyline. It was also the scene of the brand’s first V8 Supercars win, James Moffat taking victory there in 2013.
