CAMS STEWARDS TO HEAR DUMBRELL CASE MID-WEEK

The first ever mid-week Stewards Hearing for the V8 Supercar Championship Series will be held on Wednesday 27 April at CAMS' National Office in Melbourne, commencing at 7:00pm.

CAMS Stewards will hear a charge brought against Paul Dumbrell after an incident during round two of the V8 Supercar Championship Series at Pukekohe, New Zealand involving Craig Baird, which resulted in race three being red flagged.

The Investigating and Prosecuting Officer, Peter Wollerman, charged Dumbrell with a breach of the rules, reckless driving, on Sunday evening. Dumbrell did not admit to a breach of the rules and requested a Steward's Hearing. The hearing was opened on Sunday evening and Dumbrell sought an adjournment to obtain a witness and collate evidence.

The CAMS Stewards Panel for the hearing will be led by Chief Steward of the V8 Supercar Championship Series, Steve Chopping, along with Peter Drew and Terry Wade.

Changes to the V8 Supercar Championship Series rules this year have provided the ability to hold Stewards' hearings away from the race track, as happens with other sporting tribunals.
