Reigning Bathurst Champions take on Sunrise 'pitstop challenge'
TeamVodafone's Craig Lowndes and Jamie Whincup will detour on their way to Mount Panorama to defend their Super Cheap Auto Bathurst 1000 title, stopping in at Martin Place from 7.00am on Tuesday 2nd October to take on Channel 7's Sunrise program in a 'pit stop challenge'.
The duo, who recently won the Sandown 500 endurance event, will also issue the challenge to thirty members of the public who come to watch dual.
On display, and under the watchful eye of team officials will be the coveted Peter Brock Trophy which Lowndes and Whincup are aspiring to secure for the second year in a row.
Lowndes advised fans to get to Martin Place early with the 30 'pitstop challenge' positions to be allocated at 7.00am.
"It is going to be a fantastic morning," said Lowndes "Both Jamie and I are really looking forward to taking on the Sunrise guys and having the chance to meet some of our Sydney fans before we head up to the mountain."
"We will have the Peter Brock Trophy with us and the public are invited to have their photo taken with us and the trophy."
Lowndes and Whincup who won the iconic event last year are the best placed Ford drivers currently sitting third (Whincup) and fourth (Lowndes) in the 2007 V8 Supercar Championship Series.
