MCNALLY'S FIRST LAPS AT THE MOUNTAIN

Mark McNally described his first experience at Mt Panorama Bathurst as "a dream come true" after completing two practice sessions today.

The Western Australian only viewed the track for the first time a few weeks ago and was surprised by its steep climbs and sharp drops.

"This track is like nothing I have ever seen before," Mark said.

"I have not even driven on a road this steep!"

Mark was 28th fastest with a lap time of 2:15.9041 and had an incident-free run over the two sessions today.

"While I am not entirely happy with the result so far it will become clearer as to my speed when everyone is on new tyres for qualifying tomorrow.

"There are a few areas that we can improve the car as well as the confidence I will gain from more laps around here," he said.

Tomorrow's events for Mark include qualifying at 8.00am and Race 1 at 12.40pm.
