Marcos Ambrose finished the 2003 season in fine fashion by winning both races on his way to his first Australia V8 Supercar championship at Eastern Creek.

The Stone Brothers Racing's driver commented, "This all really has not sunken in yet." He brought the series crown back home to Ford in his Pirtek Falcon. The last Ford champion was Glenn Seton in 1997.

"This is awesome," the elated Ambrose said. "it has been something I have been working since I was 11 years old. I owe an enormous thanks to everyone involved at SBR this year and to all our sponsors, especially our long-time major sponsors Pirtek."
