Fabian Coulthard earns his first V8 Supercars championship winning points on the Symmons Plains circuit. The New Zealander did score wins at Albert Park but it was a non-points event on the F1 weekend in Austraia.

Kiwi Coulthard dedicates grand prix success to JR with victories at Albert Park for the V8 Supercars non-points support event for the Formula One season opener in Australia.
The MSS Security Challenge non-points third race on the Albert Park Circuit kept the stewards of the event busy with drivers being excluded. The adjustments of Race 3 outcome shows Coulthard as the winner followed by Reynolds and Bright.

Prior to the non-points weekend art the Albert Park circuit, Fabian Coulthard had never claimed a pole position, let alone a V8 Supercars victory.
Coulthard toasted his maiden win, with Holden teammate Bright sealing a dream one-two finish for Brad Jones Racing.
Fabian Coulthard and Shane van Gisbergen nailed down the front row in Melbourne as the V8 Supercars teams prepare for the first of the two non-points race. Jason Bright was second in qualifying but had to pay a penalty.
