BRIGHT USES AGP RACE TO GAIN INSIGHT

Jason Bright drove a staunch race today, climbing five places as Fujitsu Racing continued to make progress with its new race car.

After qualifying 18th yesterday the team worked on stiffening the BF Falcon to increase stability, replacing the shocks and adjusting the set-up accordingly.

The changes did not go quite far enough however with Brighty still a few tenths off the top-ten pace, although after dropping to 20th in the first few laps he was able to push forward to finish 13th.

Bright will start tomorrow's race two from 15th according the 'Manufacturer Cup' format, which sees Ford and Holden line up side-by-side on the grid. Today's winner, Craig Lowndes, was driving a Ford meaning Team Blue will line up on the left-hand-side of the grid behind pole position. Bright was the eighth Ford finisher in today's race meaning he will start from 15th in the 18:15 race.

"The car had a lot of over-steer for the first few laps of the race; while we lost a few positions in the first laps, after a bit of adjustment with the anti-roll bars in the car, the balance ended up reasonable and our pace was pretty good for the rest of the race.

"After that I could pull away from guys that had pressured me at the start of the race and made ground on some of the cars that had got past me.

"For tomorrow we need to try and get the car to flow a lot better and the over-steer / under-steer balance better."
