KNIGHT SEEKING STRONG FINALE
Andy Knight of Christchurch is seeking to maintain the strong form that has marked his 2009/2010 BNT V8s Championship in the Radio Live Falcon when the final round of the series takes place at the Taupo Motorsport Park this weekend.
In just his second full year in the hard fought V8 class Knight has emerged from a difficult debut season to be a constant in the top ten this year. The most recent round at Manfeild last month demonstrated his form as he produced three classy drives to place fifth overall for the round.
The 23-year-old is currently seventh in the championship points, just 4 points behind former two-time V8 champion Andy Booth while he is also only 49 points behind fifth place in the standings. Knight's focus for the round is on having the best weekend he can. "If we do that the rest will just happen. It would be nice to catch Andy (Booth) and Eddie (Bell) in fifth too. I would like another strong showing like Manfeild to finish off the championship."
The Radio Live Falcon has remained in the North Island between rounds and the team will carry out preparation on the car late in the week in readiness for Taupo.
Qualifying for the final round of the championship takes place on the 3.6 kilometre circuit at 4.05pm on Saturday afternoon. The first race is scheduled for Sunday morning at 10.00am over 10 laps before the second, also over 10 laps, at 1.05pm. The final race of the 2009/2010 BNT V8s Championship is a reverse grid event over 20 laps scheduled for 4.30pm on Sunday.
Knights campaign in the 2009/2010 BNT V8s Championship is supported by Radio Live, Milwaukee Power Tools, John Jones Steel, Century Yuasa and the Latimer Hotel.
