MCNALLY BACK ON TRACK AT WINTON FOR V8 UTES THIS WEEKEND

Rhys McNally will compete in his second V8 Utes event this weekend at Winton Raceway in a brand new VE Commodore Ute.

After his previous car was written off in the legends race at Adelaide earlier this year the team at HiTech Motorsport has put in a monstrous effort to get a brand new car up and running within a few short weeks.

"Barrel and the boys cannot be thanked enough for getting me back on the track for this weekend," Rhys said.

"To build a whole new car in just a few weeks, stickers and all, is an amazing effort."

After getting a taste for V8 Ute racing at Adelaide, and performing exceptionally for his first run, Rhys is now feeling a lot more comfortable in the car.

"I have done a few test days and am quite confident and comfortable in the car after doing a few miles."

On the way to Winton, in country Victoria, the team stopped at Gulbourn's Wakefield Park to shake down the new car in its first run.

"The car went perfectly without a hiccup and it did everything it was supposed to," Rhys said.

With his only experience at Winton being a test day in a Formula Ford Rhys is going into this round relatively fresh to the circuit but is still confident of a good performance.

"Basically I know which way the track goes,

"The Ute will be a different beast to a Formula Ford around here," he said.

"I still have improvements to make in my driving and I know that it will come with every event I race in."

Rhys is thankful of the support of the team sponsors and wishes to welcome JSW Australia and Kooey to the fold.
