TOP TEN FOR MCNALLY IN V8 UTES AT PHILLIP ISLAND

Rhys McNally has finished tenth outright in the V8 Utes at Phillip Island today despite battling problems in today's racing.

Rhys started from the second row in race 2 today and was immediately in the thick of the action.

"I think I was hit by everyone and also hit everyone myself, it was pretty rough out there," he said.

"I was not going to move over and just held my track position throughout the bumping and pushing."

Rhys went on to finish 7th with quite a bit of suspension damage.

A short turnaround before the final race had the crew working flat out to get the car ready.

Rhys, starting from position 9 soon discovered that things were not right with the car and dropped back through the pack.

"The car was terrible to drive, there was obviously still something wrong from the previous race," he said.

"The car was understeering and locking brakes, I was lucky to make it to the end of the race."

Finishing 18th still put Rhys in tenth place for the round.

"It was a difficult end to the weekend but I think we still got good points for the series."

Rhys will next race at Bathurst and will be studying in-car footage in preparation.

"We will try and get a test day in before Bathurst just to make sure the car is right."
