MINNEAPOLIS, MN. (August 19, 2010) - JDC MotorSports resumes its chase of Cooper Tires presents the USF2000 National Championship powered by Mazda wins and a potential series title this weekend (August 21-22), when Rounds Nine and Ten take place at Road America. With the highly-rated trio of Raphael Abbate, Mikhail Goikhberg and Martin Sala returning to the cockpits, the Minnesota-based squad is poised to build on its strong 2010 pro F2000 campaign.
When the action gets underway at the famed Wisconsin road course, one of the teams everyone will be keeping an eye on is JDC MotorSports. Goikhberg, piloting the No. 10 Chetverg/Red Line Oil/JDC MotorSports, enters the doubleheader seeking to re-ignite his championship charge following a sub-par outing in the most recent USF2000 event in Illinois. Currently third in the title fight, the Russian born racer appears poised to accomplish his goals, having finished a strong fourth and ninth in the recent F2000 Championship Series doubleheader at Road America.
Abbate makes his first trip to the famed 4.0-mile high-speed road course likewise seeking to rebound from an eventful doubleheader at Autobahn. The Brazilian No. 11 Avery Dennison/Alphacolor/Red Line Oil/JDC MotorSports pilot is currently just two points behind his teammate in the series standings, having stood on the podium twice in his rookie North American race season.
For Sala, the Wisconsin doubleheader is another opportunity to showcase his ever-improving skills behind the wheel, and advance up the points charts. The No. 19 Gulf/Aero Gal/Red Line Oil/JDC MotorSports racer from Colombia is poised to challenge for a podium finish, having come within striking distance of a top-three result in two of the previous three races.
