John Cummiskey Racing has announced Lucas Kohl will drive its #34 car for the 2016 Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Powered by Mazda.
Kohl will partner Ayla Agren, who was confirmed at JCR on Tuesday.
In 2015, Kohl competed in karting in his native Brazil and won a state Super Kart championship before racing in the National Brazilian Karting Championship. Kohl took the 2014 Formula Junior rookie class championship, winning eight out of 16 races.
“I’m very excited to work with John Cummiskey Racing,” said Kohl. “He is well known for his dedication to the team and attention to every detail.
“The team has Louis D’Agostino, a very dedicated and smart engineer, and Roberto Moreno will also be helping me catch up with the knowledge that I will need in my first year of racing in the U.S. I’m confident that together we will strive to perform at the top level and achieve good results in this very competitive championship.
Cummiskey added: “I’m really looking forward to having Lucas on the team. We had a really good test with him last season and we’re looking forward to seeing him perform in the #34 JCR entry. With how competitive karting is in Brazil, it is great to have a champion join our team and the Mazda Road to Indy.”
