Long time race fan. Grew up going to local short track, Wall Stadium in Wall, NJ in the very early 60's. As a teen followed all motorsports, F1, Can Am, USAC, NASCAR, NHRA....all of 'em. 60's were an awesome time to be a race fan.
Settled on NASCAR in '78 when I attended my first Daytona 500 and been a follower ever since. First hero was Rex White driving his bubble top 409 '62 Chevy Bel Air, soon after followed Jr' Johnson's "Mystery Motored" #3 Ray Fox prepared '63 Impala. (yes, there WAS a "3" car before Dale Earnhardt took Richard Childress' car on to fame!).
During the 80's becama a big Tim Richmond fan (still am, I guess) and with his passing took up another young Hendrick driver by the name of Jeff Gordon. Who ever knew he would become a 4 time champion.
Not a fan of this whole Chase format, or the "lucky Dog" or the wave around rule. Racing should racing, not a contrived exhibition for "entertainment" purposes. Still better than most anything out there though.
Hope those who visit enjoy my photos. All are taken from areas available to any race fan....no garage passes or press cerdentials......maybe some day!
Happy racing to all!
