Jimmy Wysong of Salt Lake City, Utah captured Saturday night's USAC Port-O-Call Rocky Mountain Sprint Car finale at Rocky Mountain Raceways in his hometown. The victory vaulted him into second in the final series standings.

Jimmy Waters of Salt Lake City earned the 2003 series title with a fourth-place finish in the 40-lap feature event and ended up 46 points ahead of Wysong at season's end.

Trailing fast qualifier Wysong's Dave Gunn Temple's Maschine/Murdock Chevrolet Wysong/Chevy were defending USAC Western Sprint Car titlist Rick Hendrix, Chad Nichols, Waters and 2003 Western Sprint Car point leader Michael Lewis. The race also afforded Western Sprint Car points, boosting Lewis' series point lead to 119 points over Tony Hunt, who finished 11th at Salt Lake City.

The Western Sprint Cars join the Western Midgets and Ford Focus Midgets for this Saturday night's "Harvest Classic 150" at Madera (Calif.) Speedway. All three series have 50-lap feature events at the 1/3-mile paved oval.
