Hunt leads Regional Sprints to Madera Saturday. Casa Grande NM/AZ Sprint Race canceled by race oranizer.

Tony Hunt of Fair Oaks, Calif. leads the USAC Western Regional Sprint Car Series, which returns to the Madera (Calif.) Speedway this Saturday night for a complete program of events, including a 30-lap feature on the 1/3-mile paved oval.

Hunt's lead is 27 points over lady driver Shauna Hogg of Roseville, Calif., who finished eighth in last year's USAC Western Sprint Car standings behind series champion Hunt.

Hunt has won two of the three "regional" races so far this year, May 4 at Madera and May 11 at Carson City, Nev. Bryan Bullard of Sacramento, Calif. won the series opener at Madera in April and trails Hogg by only two points going into Saturday night's race.

This Saturday night's scheduled New Mexico/Arizona Regional Sprint Car race has been canceled by the race organizer due to economic conditions. The next scheduled New Mexico/Arizona Regional Sprint Car race is at Aztec, N.M. on June 29.
