Tony Stewart Racing's Jones, Hines Head to Eastern Seaboard For USAC Racing's Second Look at the East Coast
INDIANAPOLIS (June 2, 2008) -- Tony Stewart Racing's (TSR) Levi Jones and Tracy Hines will head east this week for USAC Racing's second swing through Pennsylvania and Maryland. After dominating last year's USAC National Sprint Car Series tour through the region, TSR will look to score wins in the four-race stretch this week.
Returning to the region for the second time in more than 30 years, USAC National Sprint Car Series racing action will kick off Tuesday at Grandview Speedway in Bechtelsville, Pa., followed by a stop in Mechanicsburg, Pa., on Wednesday. On Thursday, they will visit Big Diamond Raceway in Minersville, Pa., with the eastern charge culminating at Hagerstown (Md.) Speedway on Saturday.
This week's racing action will mark Jones' second appearance at three of the four facilities. Thursday's event at Williams Grove will see Jones and the No. 20 TSR/Chevy/Maxim team take to the legendary half-mile for the first time. While the four-race stretch marks Hines' first appearance at each of the tracks, the No. 21 TSR/Chevy/Maxim team competed at three of the facilities in 2007. Wednesday's event at Williams Grove will also be the team's first appearance at the track.
Tuesday's event at Grandview will see the USAC Sprint Series compete on a 1/3-mile dirt oval. Williams Grove is a half-mile, paperclip-shaped oval, while Big Diamond Raceway is a 3/8-mile track. Hagerstown Speedway, where the week's action will end, boasts one of the only true half-mile dirt ovals in the country.
The No. 20 TSR/Chevy/Maxim team has won two USAC Sprint Series features in 2008, making Jones one of two repeat winners this year. Hines also has a USAC Sprint Series triumph to his credit. Jones leads the series standings with 300 points. Hines is ranked fourth in the standings with 261 points.
Racing at Grandview Speedway will get underway at 7:30 p.m. EDT on Tuesday. Tickets can be purchased by calling 610-754-7688. Wednesday at Williams Grove Speedway, racing is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. EDT. For more information, call 717-697-5000. At Big Diamond Raceway on Thursday, gates will open at 4 p.m. EDT, with racing scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. The track can be contacted at 570-544-1410. Grandstand gates will open at Hagerstown Speedway Saturday at 5 p.m. EDT. Hot laps will begin at 7:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased by calling 301-582-0640.

Quote from Levi Jones, driver of the No. 20 TSR/Chevy/Maxim
You won two of the three eastern swing USAC Sprint Series races last year. Do you think another TSR sweep is possible this week?
"I think that TSR definitely has a good shot of going four-for-four this week. Tracy (Hines, teammate) and I have both been running well in the Sprint cars and I know that the guys have really worked hard to prepare for our second trip out east. It's really cool that we get to race at these tracks. All four of them are well-known for having great World of Outlaws Sprint Series shows and we had a lot of fan support last year when we went out. The grandstands were packed every night and we hope they are again this week. It would be great to see TSR win all four races, especially for our sponsors, Chevy and Bass Pro Shops. We're really thankful for all of the people involved in our racing programs and I am looking forward to running four Sprint car events this week."
Quote from Tracy Hines, driver of the No. 21 TSR/Chevy/Maxim
This week's events will be the first time you have competed at these four tracks. Are you looking forward to heading east this week?
"I've heard a lot about the tracks we'll be competing at this week and I'm really looking forward to heading east for the first time with the USAC National Sprint Car Series. Our dirt Sprint car program is doing very well this year and I think that TSR will have a good chance to put a car in the winner's circle each night. Three of the four tracks are bigger and I know that our Chevy engines will be an advantage when we race at those facilities. The team has told me a lot about how great the fans and tracks were last year and that always makes it a lot of fun to race at a facility. TSR went three-for-three last year in the eastern swing and I am really looking forward to having an opportunity to help our team with a repeat performance this week."
