R.E. TECHNOLOGIES CLAIMS TOP TEN AT TERRE HAUTE

Terre Haute, Ind. -- June 6, 2005 -- The R.E. Technologies Racing team faced adversity Saturday night at "First Financial Sumar Classic 100" at the Terre Haute Action Track and bounced back to claim a top ten finish.

"I am not happy where we finished but I am happy that we finished," said Jerry Coons Jr. "The guys really did a great job."

Jerry Coons piloted the No. 35 to at fourth quick spot during qualifying. Starting fourth Coons moved up but then cars in front of him stacked up on the bottom. Jerry Coons Jr. slid the No. 35 to the high side and rode the cushion. Unfortunately another driver in front of him got sideways and Coons was forced to take action. The Arizona native eventually found himself at the tail of the lead lap. With his crew encouraging him to try different lines, Jerry Coons Jr. did not give up, driving the No. 35 to finish 10th.

"Our qualifying package was good," stated team manager Chris Santucci. "We need to get a lot better on our race package."

"We had some issues on the racetrack where we got involved in other people's mishaps that cost us some track positions but we overcame the adversity," said Coons. "We were better than what our results showed tonight."

USAC Weld Racing Silver Crown Series Rookie of the Year candidate, Josh Wise, won his first Silver Crown™ race, winning from the pole.
