"HALL OF FAME CLASSIC" AT ANGELL PARK NEXT FOR MIDGETS; SWEET WINS SALEM MIDGET 30-LAPPER

The USAC Mopar National Midget Series is on hiatus this week, preparing for the National Auto Racing "Hall of Fame Classic" August 29-30 at Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, Wisc.

Brad Kuhn of Avon, Ind. continues to lead the standings, 32 ahead of Brad Sweet following last Saturday's "Joe James/Pat O'Connor Memorial" 30-lapper at Salem (Ind.) Speedway, won by Brad Sweet.

Sweet, of Grass Valley, Calif., broke Ryan Newman's 30-lap USAC Midget track record at Salem Saturday night, leading all the way to win the 50th James/O'Connor Midget feature. Sweet piloted the Kasey Kahne/Curb Racing Ollie's Bargain Outlet Beast/Speedway Mopar and beat Cole Whitt, Darren Hagen, Kuhn and Bobby Santos III to the checkered flag.
