TORCO RACING FUELS "INDIANA MIDGET WEEK" OPENS THURSDAY AT KAMP; KUHN GRABS 30-LAP SALEM MIDGET FEATURE

Shane Cottle of Kokomo, Ind. is the only champion in Torco Racing Fuels USAC "Indiana Midget Week" history, having won both the 2005 and 2006 titles, but that could change this week with four races slated in four nights.

Kamp Motor Speedway in Boswell, Ind. hosts Thursday night's opener, while races will follow at Gas City I-69 Speedway Friday, Lawrenceburg Speedway Saturday and Kokomo Speedway Sunday.

Brad Kuhn of Avon, Ind. could be among top challengers for this year's "Indiana Midget Week" championship. He led all 30 laps to win Saturday night's feature at the Salem (Ind.) Speedway, part of the track's Cardinal Contracting "Joe James/Pat O'Connor Memorial." Kuhn's Quin Building Beast/Stanton Mopar was trailed at the checkered flag by Levi Jones, Marc Jessup, Jerry Coons Jr. and Kody Swanson.

Coons, by virtue of his fourth-place Salem finish, is the new series point leader in defense of his 2006 title. He is 15 points ahead of Darren Hagen, who was involved in a Salem incident and finished 14th. Kuhn is currently fourth in the standings, behind Ricky Stenhouse, Jr.
