The Stoops Freightliner Sprint Cars return to Toledo (Ohio) Speedway Friday night for the first time in 11 years to salute the 1973 series champion, Toledo's own Rollie Beale. The event, to be televised by ESPN2, carries added significance due to a special offer from Indy Racing Northern Light Series team Hemelgarn Racing. Hemelgarn is offering an Indy Racing League test to the winning driver of Friday night's race! A 30-lap feature will cap Friday's program which gets under way with practice at 5 pm. Qualifying begins at 6:45 and the first race gets the green flag at 8. The previous 18 USAC Sprint Car races at Toledo produced 13 different winners, with Beale topping the list with five. Gary Bettenhausen was the only other driver to win more than once! The late Rich Vogler holds the 1-lap track qualifying record of 118.056 mph set in 1989. Tony Elliott of Kokomo, Ind. currently leads the Stoops Freightliner standings by 32 points over runner-up J.J. Yeley. A total of 72 points are available Friday night. <pre>
