WYSONG CUTS INTO WATERS' POINT LEAD

Defending USAC/SLVRA Young Automotive Group Rocky Mountain Sprint Car Champion Jim Waters' point lead slipped to 11 following his fourth-place finish in Saturday night's 40-lap race at Rocky Mountain Raceways in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Jimmy Wysong of South Jordan, Utah trails Jim Waters by only 11 points in the new standings after winning Saturday night's 40-lap feature. Wysong passed Rick Pardee on lap 34 and led the final seven laps at to beat Todd Ellison, Pardee, Waters and Mel Andrus. Ryan Burdett led the first seven laps before Pardee led the next 26.

The Rocky Mountain Sprint Car Series resumes May 30 at the 3/8-mile paved Salt Lake oval.
