HAMILTON LEADS REGIONAL MIDGETS TO GRUNDY COUNTY FOR "BOB LOCKARD MEMORIAL"

Kyle Hamilton of Danville, Ind. continues his quest for the 2009 USAC Regional Midget championship this Saturday at Grundy County Speedway in Morris, Ill. as the "Bob Lockard Memorial" unfolds on the third-mile paved oval. The program also features USAC's Midwest Ford Focuses.

A total of 69 feature laps of competition are slated in honor of the car number displayed for so many years on Lockard's entries. The Joliet, Ill. car owner logged 24 USAC National victories during his career.

Hamilton enjoys a 167-point lead over Alison MacLeod, the Canadian driver who is tied with Taylor Ferns for the all-time lead in terms of USAC feature victories by females. Alison has seven USAC wins, including a 50-lap Regional Midget race at Grundy County this June.

Hamilton, like MacLeod, has won twice in the series this year and his victories also include a May 30 win at Grundy County.
