Memphis, TN -- January 6, 2004- Roger Johnson, owner of R.E. Technologies Racing, and Team Manager Chris Santucci announced today, they have named Boston Reid as the driver for the #35 USAC Weld Racing Silver Crown Series team for the 2004 season.

"Our team has been looking for a young driver that we can take from raw talent to the next level of racing," said Johnson. "Boston stood out because of his knowledge of what is going on with the racecar and his ability to communicate that to us."

"We have been looking at Boston for the past two or three years," said Team Manager Chris Santucci. "In only his first test with us, his feedback on the response of the car was as good as anyone I have worked with."

The 2002 USAC Sprint Car Rookie of the Year says he is thrilled to have an opportunity to drive for the team and attempt to claim the 2004 USAC Silver Crown Rookie of the Year.

"I am very pleased to be a part of this organization," said Reid. "With an established and successful team like R.E. Technologies Racing, it should make it easier for a rookie driver coming in. The team has already been to all of these places we will race and they know what to expect. They can coach me along and teach me the do's and don'ts because, they have already been there and done that."

Boston Reid finished 5th in the final 2003 USAC National Sprint Car Points Standings. He was also named the 2002 National Sprint Car Hall of Fame Non-Wing Rookie of the Year and was selected as a driver participant for the prestigious 2002 Red Bull Formula One Driver Search Program.

"Boston is a good fit for us," stated Johnson. "I believe his goals are very much in line with our team."

"Silver Crown cars are a great training ground and with at team like R.E. Technologies, I hope in a couple of years to move up to the next level," said the Indiana native. "I'm thrilled that team owner Roger Johnson and Team Manager Chris Santucci are giving me this shot. USAC is a great place for a young racer to grow."

Boston Reid will begin his quest for Rookie of the Year at the Copper World Classic in Phoenix, Arizona on March 21, 2004.
