Carl Edwards/ R.E. Technologies Racing Sweeps Arizona Silver Crown Races, Winning the 2007 Copper World Classic

PHOENIX, Ariz. -- The Carl Edwards/ R.E. Technologies Racing team ended the 2007 K&N USAC Silver Crown Series season the way the began it, by winning in the desert. The team's first win of the season came on the dirt track at Manzanita Speedway with Ricky Stenhouse Jr. behind the wheel. Tonight's win came at the one mile paved oval at Phoenix International Raceway with Cameron Dodson piloting the No. 199.

Dodson and the Carl Edwards/ R.E. Technologies Racing team entered the weekend with one goal on their mind, winning. The team spent the early part of the day, Thursday massaging the No. 199 Ford/ Hoosier Tires/ Red Line Oil entry. When it came time to qualify, Silver Crown 0x2122 Rookie of the Year Candidate, Cameron Dodson turned a lap time of 26.370 good for the second best time behind pole sitter Jerry Coons Jr.

When the green flag dropped Cameron Dodson made his move and took the lead on the first lap. He would lead the first 25 laps of the race before Jerry Coons Jr. would retake the lead. NASCAR Nextel Cup driver, J.J. Yeley would take the lead from Coons but Dodson and his spotter, Carl Edwards would change that. Edwards worked with Dodson on a different line to run. The change made a difference and soon Cameron Dodson was back in second. Dodson was catching Yeley when the Phoenix native spun and Cameron Dodson and the No. 199 regained the lead. The youngster never looked back and continued to lead the final 16 laps of the race and claim his first USAC Silver Crown Series win and the team's second of the season.
