Mat Neely Ready For Indiana Sprint Week

FAIRMOUNT, Indiana (July 13, 2006) -- Mat Neely of Robinson, Illinois, is excited for the beginning of the United States Auto Club (USAC) Indiana Sprint Week, which kicks off July 13, 2006 at Twin Cities Raceway Park in North Vernon, Indiana. Recently having teamed up with the 2B Racing/Lucas Oil team owned by Scott Benic, Neely has a great chance to make up some ground in the USAC National Point Standings over the next seven races.

"Scott (Benic) has great equipment, a great team and an outstanding program," said Neely from the Benic Enterprises shop in Fairmount, Indiana. "We dropped back in points after the last two pavement races (in which Neely runs his own equipment), but we are looking forward to making up a lot of ground over the next two weeks."

In two of the first races that Benic and Neely teamed up, the duo captured the 2006 Buckeye Nationals, including one Indy Racing League-sponsored Fast Qualifier award. The 2B Racing Lucas Oil team also captured the 2005 USAC National Sprint Car Points Championship with Levi Jones behind the wheel. Neely currently sits a mere 133 points behind USAC National Sprint Car Series point leader, Josh Wise

Kicking off tonight at Twin Cities Raceway Park in North Vernon, Indiana, Indiana Sprint Week will encompass the following tracks: Bloomington Speedway (7/14), Tri-State Speedway (7/15), Kokomo Speedway (7/16), Gas City I-69 Speedway (7/19), Lawrenceburg Speedway (7/20) and the Terre Haute Action Track (7/21).

The Scott Benic machine is sponsored by Lucas Oil Products, Benic Enterprises, Karavan Trailers, Maxim Chassis, Gaerte Engines, and Massey Truck Repair.
