LAS VEGAS -- LVMS officials announced Thursday the addition of a United States Auto Club (USAC) race at the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Saturday, April 3. The event will be sponsored by the Orleans Hotel and Casino.

The event will be known as The Orleans Hotel and Casino USAC Sprint Car and Midget Nationals. The USAC race will coincide with the NHRA Summitracing.com Nationals at The Strip. USAC Valvoline Western Sprint Car Series, USAC Western Midget Car Series and USAC Ford Focus Midget Series are on the race card. More than 80 race teams are expected to attend.

"USAC Sprint Cars and Midgets are arguably the most exciting form of short track racing," said Andy Adamcik, manager of short track racing. "It's great for them to be back at the Bullring for The Orleans Hotel and Casino USAC Sprint Car and Midget Nationals."

Both the USAC Valvoline Western Sprint Car Series and USAC Western Midget Car Series will compete in a 40-lap feature, while the USAC Ford Focus Midget Series competes in a 25-lap main event.

USAC's last visit to the Bullring in 2002 saw NASCAR NEXTEL Cup star Tony Stewart win both the Midget and Sprint Car features. Another notable who competed in 2002 was NASCAR Busch Series rookie contender and 2003 USAC Triple Crown champion J.J. Yeley.
