SPECIAL NOTES ON THIS SATURDAY NIGHT'S USAC TRIPLE THUNDER SHOW:

* TELEVISION: ESPN's cameras will be there taping all three events to be show in a special "Three Ring Thunder" on Monday night, October 18. Many fans find it great fun to attend in person and then watch themselves (and all the racing action!) on Monday night in the privacy of their own homes. The three-hour "live to tape" special is scheduled for Monday night, October 18 on ESPN2.

* OFFICIAL COLOR GUARD: We are very fortunate to again have the services of the same spectacular Air Force Color Guard from March Air Force Base who opened Irwindale Speedway on March 27 of this year. They are from the 163rd Air Refueling Wing which is stationed at March Air Force Base in Riverside.

* SPECIAL SPEED RECORD ATTEMPT: The closed-course speed record attempt by the City of Duarte-City of Hope Rose Parade Float is now scheduled for approximately 6:30 pm. on Saturday.

* JACK HEWITT (#23) SILVER BULLET CAR: The all-time winningest series driver with 21 "Silver" victories. He has run in over 130 of these events and has a lifetime total of 68 USAC main event victories including the unprecedented, unbelievable sweep of the Eldora "4 Crown Nationals" in 1998 when Hewitt not only competed in all four classes but WON all four main events. In 1998 the 47 year-old driver finally got to the Indianapolis 500 where he finished in 12th place.
