WISE, CARVER AND HAGAR LOOK FOR A GOOD RUN AT SPRINGFIELD SATURDAY

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Veteran Josh Wise, Derek Hager and newcomer Justin Carver are aiming to put Carl Edwards/ R.E. Technologies Racing on the podium again this Saturday at the Tony Bettenhausen 100 at the Illinois State Fairgrounds in Springfield.

Josh Wise is coming off of a second place finish on the asphalt oval at Oswego Speedway earlier this month.

"We are hoping to take this momentum and carry it onto Springfield this weekend," said Wise. "I would like to thank Mike Curb and Curb Records for this opportunity to drive the No. 199 Carl Edwards/ Curb-Agajanian/ R.E. Racing."

Newcomer Justin Carver is scheduled to make his first career USAC K & N Silver Crown Series start at the Springfield mile. The Drummonds, Tennessee native has been driving a wingless 305 sprint car for a few years and is looking to lean on the experience of his teammates, Josh Wise and Derek Hagar, as well as the Carl Edwards/ RE Technologies Racing team.

"I am thankful for the opportunity to drive the No. 991 Carl Edwards/ RE Technologies Racing/ DynoTech, Red Line Oil car in my first USAC Silver Crown race," smiled Carver. "I am not expecting to go out there and win in my first time in a Silver Crown™ car but I am hoping to get in a good clean race."

Derek Hagar is scheduled to pilot the No. 6 Bob East owned Conrad Sand and Gravel/ DynoTech sponsored entry in his second trip to the Illinois State Fairgrounds.

"I like the speed at Springfield," said Hagar. "You can stand on the gas a lot more and throw the car off in the corner harder. I like the speed of the track. I would also like to thank the team for giving me an opportunity to drive the car."

Hagar finished 5th and took home the Hard Charger award at Manzanita Speedway earlier this season. The Illinois State Fairgrounds is celebrating 75 years of Motorsports racing at the one-mile dirt oval this weekend at the Tony Bettenhausen 100.
