CALIFORNIA, UTAH FOCUSES CONVERGE AT LAKE HAVASU; RAIN HALTS JACKSONVILLE EVENT

The USAC California Pavement and Utah Developmental Ford Focus Series will combine for this weekend's events at Havasu 95 Speedway in Lake Havasu, Ariz. Friday night's race awards points toward the California Pavement championship and Saturday's program affords points toward both series.

Tim Skoglund of Fresno, Calif. enjoys an 87-point lead over Nic Faas as he seeks a repeat championship in the California Pavement series, while Tim Savage of Herriman, Utah has his sights set on the Utah title, currently 81 points ahead of runner-up Billy Cox.

A 30-lap feature is planned each night on the 1/4-mile paved oval where Skoglund was victorious in March. Faas finished second in the March race.

Saturday night's Carolina Ford Focus race at Coastal Plains Raceway in Jacksonville, N.C. was rained out. No new date has been set at present for the event.
