FOCUSES AT PLYMOUTH, IRWINDALE, SHENANDOAH & LOWVILLE; FEHRMAN, ROBERTSON, HOWELL, INTRAVAIA, GREENUP, POSEY ALL WIN
Four speedways hosts USAC Ford Focus racing this week, involving the California Pavement, Indiana, USAC/UMARA, Midwest, Carolina and Northeast Series.
Tim Skoglund leads the California Pavement series to Irwindale Speedway for Saturday night's events, while Chett Gehrke leads the Midwest series to Madison International Speedway in Oregon, Wisc. Saturday and the Indiana series to Plymouth, Ind. Speedway Wednesday.
Jeff Abold stands atop the Northeast series going into Friday's race at Adirondack International Speedway in Lowville, N.Y. and Michael Sboro is the leader in the Carolina Series which resumes Saturday at Shenandoah Speedway in Virginia.
Robertson, Eric Fehrman, Dennis Howell, Steven Intravaia, Brad Greenup and Kipp Posey all recorded victories in USAC Ford Focus competition last week during one of the busiest weeks of the season.
Robertson, of Indianapolis, Ind., won Friday's Midwest 30-lapper at KilKare Raceway in Xenia, Ohio, leading the last 25 laps in his Gregg Steele Racing/Lucas Oil Beast. Jordan Pennington, Mario Clouser, Andy Nock and Tyler Irwin trailed.
Fehrman, of Greensburg, Ind., wheeled his Del Taco/Indy Concrete Beast to victory at New Castle, Ind. Wednesday, leading the last 27 laps of the Indiana series race to beat Gehrke, Robby Parish, Alison MacLeod and Craig Haack.
Howell, of Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif., led all 20 laps of Saturday's California Dirt feature at the Ventura Raceway to beat series point leader Nic Faas, Robby Josett, Jet Davison and Ricky Kirkbride.
Rookie driver Intravaia, of Saylorsburg, Pa., won Saturday's Northeast 20-lapper at the Waterford (Conn.) Speedbowl, leading the last 18 laps to beat Ryan Osborne, P.J. Stergios, Jon Seaman and series point leader Jeff Abold.
Greenup won Saturday's 16-lapper at Grundy County Speedway in Morris, Ill., leading the last five laps to win the 16-lap contest over Mark Wachter and Justin Plunkett.
Posey, of Salt Lake City, drove his Isagenix Wysong Focus to victory in Saturday's 20-lapper at Rocky Mountain Raceways in the Utah capital. Series leader Tim Savage, Bob Brewer, James Powell and Mark Miran rounded out the "top-five."
