RECORD 6 FEATURE EVENTS AT ANDERSON WEDNESDAY; RAIN FORCES NEW CASTLE CANCELATION

A belated celebration of the first 75 years of Midget Auto Racing history unfolds Wednesday night at the Anderson (Ind.) Speedway after rain forced cancellation of last Wednesday night's racing program at the Mount Lawn Speedway in New Castle, Ind. The first organized Midget race occurred on June 4, 1933 at Hughes Stadium in Sacramento, Calif., won by Dave Oliver.

James Robertson (Regional Midgets), Auston Harris (Indiana Ford Focus) and Caleb Armstrong (Kenyon Midgets) lead their respective series to Anderson, where an all-time USAC record six feature events are slated. The reason is to make up the rained out Anderson program of May 14.

Three 25-lap feature events will kick off the Anderson program, a belated salute to the June 4 "75th Anniversary of the Birth of Midget Auto Racing" which was rained out at New Castle, Ind. The three concluding features will be 30 laps each.

Robertson won four USAC titles in 2007, while Harris scored a historic first USAC feature win May 28 at Illiana Motor Speedway in Schererville, Ind.
