USAC'S REGIONAL CHAMPIONS TOASTED AT DK PROMOTIONS BANQUET IN INDIANAPOLIS

(Avon, IN) Competitors, USAC Officials, friends and family gathered Saturday at Celebrations Banquet Facility on Indianapolis' westside to honor the champions and top ten in points from USAC's 2007 Regional racing series at Don Kenyon's DK Promotions Wednesday Night Thunder Awards Banquet. Wednesday Night Thunder presented by The Richard Petty Driving Experience is a weekly racing series featuring USAC's Kenyon Midget, Indiana Ford Focus Midget and Regional Midget Series. The 2007 series featured Wednesday night events at Indiana's Plymouth and Mt. Lawn Speedways.

Wednesday Night Thunder Driving Champions James Robertson (Regional Midgets), Kyle Hamilton (Kenyon Midgets) and Chett Gehrke (Indiana Ford Focus Midgets) and their respective car owners Gregg Steele, Mike Hamilton and Gehrke all collected their year-end point fund checks and championship trophies from DK Promotions and USAC.

Robertson, Hamilton and Robbie Parish were also honored as the top three drivers in the competition for the Adam Petty Cup. They all received the special award of driving experiences from the Richard Petty Driving Experience. Champion James Robertson will be presented the Adam Petty Cup at the USAC "Champions Night" National Awards Dinner in Indianapolis on January 18, 2008.

Gregg Steele and James Robertson were also honored for winning the Midwest Ford Focus Series Championship. Robertson joined 3-time series Champion Tate Martz in giving Steele his 4th consecutive Midwest Ford Focus Series crown. Robertson's 15 USAC feature victories in various USAC racing series during 2007 were the most by any USAC driver and he has now claimed four USAC driving titles in two years, including the 2007 National Ford Focus title with car owner Steele.

DK Promotions President Don Kenyon and USAC Series Coordinator Eric Bunn announced the 2008 Wednesday Night Thunder Series for Kenyon Midget, Ford Focus Midgets and Regional Midgets will open on May 14th at the Anderson (Ind.) Speedway.

Renowned announcer Pat Sullivan served as the emcee for Saturday night's banquet.
