"REGIONAL" EVENTS AT NEW CASTLE WEDNESDAY & ANDERSON FRIDAY ROBERTSON, WIMMENAUER & MacLEOD GRAB ANDERSON WINS

USAC's popular "Open Wheel Extravaganza" continues this Wednesday night at Mount Lawn Speedway in New Castle, Ind. featuring the Regional, Kenyon and Indiana Ford Focus Midgets. The Kenyon Midgets are also scheduled to compete Friday at the Anderson (Ind.) Speedway.

James Robertson of Indianapolis, Ind, Jeff Wimmenauer of New Whiteland, Ind. and Alison MacLeod of Mississauga, Ont., Canada scored feature victories in last Wednesday night's "Open Wheel Extravaganza" events at Anderson (Ind.) Speedway.

Robertson piloted the Maurer Entertainment Beast/Ford to victory in the 30-lap Regional Midget feature, leading wire-to-wire to beat series point leader Travis Young, Justin Overfelt, Mario Marietta and Stephanie Mockler.

Wimmenauer also paced all 30 laps to put his Industrial Anodizing Yamaha in the winner's circle in the Kenyon Midget race. Series point leader Drew Charlson, Dalton Armstrong, Grant Galloway and Mike Terry Jr. rounded out the "top-five."

MacLeod became only the third female driver in USAC history to reach five career feature wins as she wheeled the Ribwear/Ford Racing Beast to victory in the 30-lap Midwest/Indiana Ford Focus race, leading the last 26 laps after passing Andy Nock on lap five. Series leader Kyle Hamilton was second ahead of Nock, Eric Fehrman and Tyler Cottongim.
