MOUNT LAWN SPEEDWAY HOSTS THURSDAY REGIONAL MIDGET "TRIPLEHEADER"

Thursday night's USAC racing program at Mount Lawn Speedway in New Castle, Ind. showcases three different USAC Regional racing series on a 3/10-mile paved circuit. The program is presented by the Richard Petty Driving Experience.

The USAC Regional Midgets, Kenyon Midgets and Indiana Ford Focus Midgets compete in what race organizer Don Kenyon calls the "Open Wheel Racing Extravaganza." The weekly programs continue this year at Mount Lawn Speedway in New Castle, Ind, Plymouth (Ind.) Speedway and Illiana Motor Speedway in Schererville, Ind.

Series champions from 2007 are James Robertson of Indianapolis, Ind. (Regional Midgets), Chett Gehrke of Broken Arrow, Okla. (Indiana Focus) and Kyle Hamilton of Danvile, Ind. A 30-lap feature is on tap for each series Thursday.

Caleb Armstrong of New Castle, Ind. captured the 2008 Kenyon Midget opener April 6 at Anderson, but Jeff Wimmenauer of New Whiteland, Ind. finds himself atop the series standings as a result of qualifying, heat and feature points earned in April.
