Ray #1 again in Bloomington Focus debut.
Indiana Series returns to South Bend Friday.
Indiana Ford Focus Midget Car Series point leader Robbie Ray of Davenport, Iowa recorded his fourth victory of the 2003 season in Friday night's 20-lap feature at the Bloomington Speedway. The race was the first for the new series at the 1/4-mile banked dirt track.
Ray trailed Ronnie Wuerdeman for the first seven laps, then moved to the front in his Ray Racing Beast. Rex Norris III posted his best series finish to date as the race runner-up and he was followed by Derek Crasi, Ryan Litt and Jim Mills. Mills and Crasi won the preliminary heat races.
Ray leads Trenton Darland by a comfortable margin going into this Friday's race at the South Bend Motor Speedway in South Bend, Ind. A 20-lap feature is again on tap and Tate Martz was the feature winner when the series made its initial South Bend appearance in June.
Darland and Martz were 15th and 16th in Saturday's Bloomington feature.
